We have some exciting news (but we also need your help)

Today we have some very exciting news to let you know about. The St Vincent’s Foundation Queensland has been established!

resident and family member

As a not-for-profit aged care and health provider, St Vincent’s is committed to continuing our original Catholic mission of being there to service the Australian community. Therefore, the St Vincent’s Foundation Queensland has been formed to make sure our facilities are looked after, and that we are providing excellent, compassionate, care to our residents and patients, that is high quality, safe and holistic and most importantly, centred on their needs now and into the future.

You would be aware that times are tough, and it is harder and harder in getting the fundraising support required to help all our aged care facilities nationally as well as our three hospitals in Queensland. So that is where the Foundation can help and our staff can go back to what they do best, looking after our residents and patients.

The St Vincent's Foundation Queensland's first appeal is for this coming Christmas

The Foundation was officially launched on Friday 19th of August at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane where 80 students from St Laurence’s College South Brisbane joined invited guests, staff, residents, and patients in celebrating this historic event. The students were completing their annual walkathon and had chosen the Foundation as their major charity to support.

You can learn more about the Foundation by going to their website www.helpstvincentsqld.org.au

This Christmas, each of our 4 St Vincent’s Health Australia’s areas have made a wish for something that can make a difference in the day-to-day running of their aged care facility or hospital. The Foundations goal is to raise $100,000 to grant that wish to each of our four areas in need.

These wishes include having an Aged Care resident still connected to their community if locked down, and much needed

Residents will be able to view Mass and other events from their rooms with the new broadcasting systems

equipment for each of the hospitals -they may not seem much, but they are all so vital. Today you can help grant a wish.

Imagine living in one of our aged care facilities and spending your day surrounded by a community that you are proud to be part of.  Your day involves catching up with others, attending chapel, or just being part of the daily activities that are on offer.  Now imagine that you are not well, or there is limited movement around the facility because of an outbreak and you are confined to your room. This makes a huge impact on your daily life.

What if there was a way to help you still be part of your community while you are isolated?

There is a way.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for two new broadcasting systems for our aged care homes

By setting up a broadcasting system in our facility that can live stream Mass and other events that happen, from the onsite chapel through to each of our residents’ rooms for them to watch on their own TV. This allows them to still be able to take part in the things that mean so much to them. This Christmas our wish is to have this set up in two facilities in the new year

You can make a donation this Christmas by going to www.helpstvincentsqld.org.au or phoning 1800 161 197 and speaking with our Foundation Manager Greg Potent.

Will you help our residents?
